Your one task

Write down one check you repeat at work. Give it a source, a comparison, and a result you can review.

You can do that before connecting any tools.

Choose the check.

If you open the same report every week to see whether something changed, you already have a place to start with an agent.

Pick a report you understand well enough to spot a wrong answer. Keep it small: a weekly report, a list of unfinished tasks, or a file you check for missing information.

For this first pass, use a copy with private details removed. You can work out the instructions without giving an agent access to your live accounts.

Give it a job you can review.

Start with this brief and fill in the brackets:

Read [the report or file]. Compare [this period] with [the comparison period].

Flag [the specific change that matters]. For each finding, show the source row or passage and explain what changed.

If the data is missing or the comparison is unclear, say so. Do not estimate a result to fill the gap.

Return a draft for me to review. Do not change records, send messages, or connect other tools.

Be specific about the comparison. “Tell me what matters” gives the agent very little to work with. “Show any overdue task that has no owner” gives you a result you can check.

Check the answer yourself.

Run the brief on the copy, then compare its answer with the source. Did it find the right change? Can you follow its evidence? Did it say when something was missing?

If it misses the point, change one instruction and try the same example again. Keep a note of what you changed.

In this Short, I explain how I use scheduled checks to have a COO agent review the data warehouse and trigger an investigation when performance drops.

The first step for your own version is the brief. Scheduling can wait until you trust the result on a sample you understand.

Bring back one finding.

Share the check you chose, the answer it returned, and one thing you had to correct in Cosmic AI. Leave customer details and private data out of your example.
